The fortified Johannesburg Branch of the South African Reserve Bank blends into the context of Newtown as an urban sculpture. Widely praised, the building has been included in the International Union of Architecture's publication of landmark contribution's to 20th century world architecture.

At only half the cost of a new building, a mothballed apartment block was transformed into the Colloseum Hotel. SA Architect praised the project for the respectful architectural treatment of a city landmark and the exemplary countering of inner city neglect.
