Urban Design

Co-Arc has significant experience in urban design work ranging from strategic urban design studies to the creation of individual structures integrated into a given urban context.
Patrick McInerney holds a postgraduate degree in urban design, and leads the Urban Design team within the Meyer Pienaar office. Patrick is a Member of the Urban Design Institute of SA, and has been tasked by UDISA to set up (in collaboration with Gerrit Jordaan) the Gauteng Provincial Institute of Urban Design.
François Pienaar, a founder member of the Urban Action Group, has demonstrated his creative flair in urban and civic design in such pioneering urban concepts as the Centurion Lake and the Sandton Square (Nelson Mandela Square) Developments.
Chris Malan has an ongoing interest in sustainable development, and is at present studying for a Master Degree in environmental management. He serves on the PIA and SAIA Habitat committees, and represents SAIA in initiatives by the National Departments of Housing and the Department of Arts and Culture.
