Co-Arc International Architects have designed a number of hotels in important locations in Southern Africa and beyond. The thirty storey Marine Parade hotel for Holiday Inns USA in Durban has become an important landmark on the Golden Mile. The Michelangelo in Sandton situated directly on the Square, forms part of the overall urban design proposals developed over a period of twenty years. the 5 star hotel has become a unique brand internationally, becoming amember of the Leading Hotels of the World organization. The unique design and a sense of place has ensured high occupancy rates overs a period of fourteen years since opening in 1995. At present two hotels are being developed or extended in Nigeria and Ghana. The Wheatbaker in Lagos will be a unique 70 roomed boutique hotel, while the extensions to the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra aims to re-establish the historic 5 star status and enhance the Labadi brand.
